Scott Barber

Job Title: Chief Data Officer

Company: Bupa

Scott is an analytics and information management executive with a passion for bringing people, data and technology together to solve real world problems. Throughout his career he has moved back and forth between hands-on analytics roles and leadership positions.  Scott is currently Bupa’s A&NZ’s Chief Data Officer where he has general oversight for how data is managed and used across the organisation and specific responsibilities for data technologies, platforms, governance and ensuring Bupa’s analytics community is able to fully leverage its data assets.  Previous to Bupa, Scott spend 13 years at GE Capital in a wide range of roles in both Australia and Asia supporting the businesses analytics, reporting, data governance and data infrastructure.

Scott is originally from Canada and his working holiday to Australia has been going since 2003.  Apart from a two year stint working in China, Melbourne has been his home for a while now.  In his opinion, Australia is pretty much the same as Canada but with much better weather and fewer grizzly bears, so he has decided to stay!
